Party Handcuffs
2010-04-01

At con parties, once people get a little bit lubed up my handcuffs often get passed all around the room, as one person tries them and escapes... then cuffs someone else... then teaches that person... and so on and so on. I wanted a solution for party handcuffs that would help prevent me from losing them when evenings were in full swing. I hit upon the following idea...

Money in Canada
2010-03-21

Money in Canada sure is strange. I've heard that it's funny colors, but that's not what i encountered. I was in Vancouver for one day in late March, and the money that i found under my hotel bed when i checked-in wasn't a different hue, it was just rolled up in little tubes... what bizzare currency they have up north. Take a look, ha.

San Francisco
2010-03-01

Babak and i were in out San Francisco for the RSA Conference and Security B-Sides in early March. It's a beautiful place, but there are some oddball people out there. Some were just your typical "security" conference goofs. Others were natives that made you scratch your head and wonder.

BeaveCon
2009-09-26

Beave was in town so a lot of us converged on the D.C. area to meet up... it was amazing to see who else was in the area. You never can tell who will be in the capital on some sort of business. We thought about hitting some bars here and there, but instead decided to just have a formal party on King Tuna's roof.

The best hacker con in Argentina... with an atmosphere and style all its own, and enough steak to kill a truckload of lumberjacks. Hell yeah!

Hacking at Random
2009-08-12

My first time at a hacker camp. I have no words to explain it properly. Check out the photos and videos to capture something of the vibe. It was utterly amazing.

Good Times in Amsterdam
2009-08-10

In between PlumberCon & HAR, some of us hung out in Amsterdam. It really is a beautiful city. No photos of hookers and drugs, just some lovely scenes around town. Heh, sorry.    ;-)

PlumberCon 2009
2009-08-08

A great little fun time in Vienna at a small con that still attracted some really big names. A few photos of the nice setup at the Werkzeug and some scenes around the city.

DEFCON 17
2009-07-30

The planet's largest hacker conference just keeps finding new ways of being fun and awesome. Loads of photos here from this year's DEFCON.

Black Hat USA
2009-07-25

Back to the desert again for the biggest, baddest, and most impressive classes of training students that i get all year long. Some good photos of the conference and of the after party.

Gringo Warrior Rebuild
2009-07-24

About once a year i scrap the entire course hardware of Gringo Warrior and put in entirely fresh equipment all-around. The dents, dings, and overall abuse does add up, and it feels good to rebuild everything once in a while from the ground up. This latest rebuild took place just prior to my trip out to Vegas for DEFCON 17.

Latest Rifle... Springfield M1A
2009-06-18

Would you believe that this actually arrived the day i left for SummerCon and ShakaCon? I was out of town for weeks, having a great time but also languishing in separation from my latest piece. Ah well... i'm home now and all is well. I picked her up this afternoon and am simply thrilled.

ShakaCon III
2009-06-08

It's always a pleasure to be in Hawaii... and getting invited to participate inx ShakaCon every summer is quite an honor and privelidge. This time i took Daisy and we stayed with Pyr0 and Ed. Andrea & Daniele were in town, as well, and we all spent a lot of fun days exploring all sorts of the island of O'ahu together.

LayerOne
2009-05-23

It's time to play everyone's favorite fun-time con game... "How many drinks can you hold and consume at once?" Some great party shots from this year's LayerOne conference in southern California. Thrown in for good measure are some shots of the really impressive Lockpick Village that datagram and Scorche put together... way to go, guys!

An Afternoon of Long-Range Shooting
2009-05-20

C.M. and i took some of our long arms out to the Central Jersey Rifle & Pistol Club since the weather was so wonderful and had a good 'ol time picking off targets at a distance. There's nothing quite as satisfying as fluid-filled bottles. You get better hit confirmation than with anything else... and for free, as well. We used my spotting scope to shoot some pretty decent video with my little camera.

New Pelican Rifle Case configuration
2009-05-12

Down below i posted some photos of a Pelican rifle case that i picked up to bring some harware with me to the DEFCON Shoot and to other range events. Well, i've changed around the interior quite a bit, in order to accomodate my new long-barrel AR-15. Astonishingly, i was able to make both scoped rifles fit, along with room to spare for ammo and supplies.

New Server Shelf
2009-04-28

I used to have all of my home network's servers just sort of sitting around on the floor of my closet. It took up a lot of room and wasn't great for cable management or dust control. So, i built myself a little shelf system and created a nice array of technology. I added a UPS at the bottom (first time i've ever owned a CyberPower as opposed to APC) and am amazed at how it handles that whole load on the circuit. Photos and video are here for your humor and enjoyment.

TOOOL New Jersey meeting
2009-04-22

The New Jersey chapter of TOOOL has been having pretty successful meetings in Princeton with some regularity these days. I figured i'd take some photos to document the goings-on there. We have some really great people who come out all the time and the things they bring are really terrific.

CanSecWest
2009-03-16

This was my first time in Vancouver. While i've been to Canada before, it's always been on the east side of the country. CanSecWest was nice and TOOOL's lockpicking content was a pretty big hit. I'm keeping fingers crossed for an invite to one of their sister conferences... like PacSec in Japan or Bacon in South America.

HackCon Oslo Again
2009-02-16

Here we are again at HackCon in Norway... we're fucking huge there. This time we taught about locks, microcontrollers, espionage, WiFi badassery, broadband hacking, and we may have changed the world.

Barcode Shmarcode contest entry
2009-02-02

So ShmooCon has a new contest this year, where folk take their registration barcode and do something fun with it. I chose to mock up packs of cigarettes with new wrapping and packaging and give them as gifts to folk there... after using the new UPC to get in, of course. Hehe... keeping the Indonesian tax stamps was my favorite touch.

New Long Range Targeting Rifle
2009-01-20

Before the election i purchased a few AR-15 receivers in order to grandfather them in if the new administration does anything stupid with the laws. Just after x-mas i decided to build one up into a full rifle, so i acquired the parts and set out to build basically the most long-range target plinker i could manage. Here are the results.

Vienna, Austria
2008-11-10

My first time ever in Austria. Babak and I were in town for DeepSec and also got to hang out a whole lot with the fucking awesome crew at the MetaLab... the best hacker space I've ever seen.

HackInThe Box - Malaysia
2008-10-28

Another year, another trip around the world. The HackInTheBox event in Malaysia is always a hoot... much like a Black Hat event, but with some more chill people in suits and ties, it's great getting to see far-flung lands and teaching at the same time.

Black Hat 2008 & DEFCON 16
2008-08-01

Photos from both Black Hat and DEFCON this past week in Las Vegas. I had so much fun and got to do so many great things with so many wonderful people that i was dangerously close to having a heart attack due to pleasure overload by the time i had to come home.

Pelican 1700 Case
2008-07-27

I recently acquired a new Pelican case, primarily for transportation of my favorite guns to the DEFCON Shoot. I love this thing already. It handles my traditional road-rugged Abus diskus locks and it can contain two of my largest weapons with ease.

ShakaCon II
2008-06-09

What a brilliant idea... a con in fucking paradise! Here's a huge load of photos and some video footage from my first trip to Hawaii. Not only was this an absolutely fantastic event for TOOOL, the Lockpick Village, and Gringo Warrior... but it was also a world-class bit of travel, tourism, and educational fun. I can't wait to return next year!

LayerOne
2008-05-16

Pasadena, California was home to the fiesta that gets put on by noid, evil, pappy, xinc, MMCA, CHS, skroo, with mad support from the 23b gang. This is footage from the Lockpick Village and Gringo Warrior. Thanks so much to everyone who came out!
