Bangin' Around Amsterdam
two
fellas by the canals... a great way to kick off three days of hangout
in one of the world's most enjoyable cities.
some
very interesting 3-D art in a hackerspace-ish spot in the city
some
more really amazing art... murals on the walls of that interesting spot...
...
floors and ceilings were also included in the art surfaces...
heh,
and here is their front door security. more effective than a mere lock,
i suppose.
a
local casino shop... showing the Riv and the Circus Circus. hah.
More
local art. Badass, indeed.
loads
of blanks for cool, old-fashioned lever locks.
poster
for a cool new TV show in the Netherlands, it seems
another
intersting poster
Babak
and i agree that this is one of the coolest signs around... the word
for "speed bumps" is just georgeous in Dutch.
This
is one of those hillarious signs that is funny simply because it's written
in what looks to be a phony language but is an actual foreign language.
Ah well, maybe i find similar cognates to be funnier than they actually
are.
;-)
more
drempels!
i
love the old relics on these buildings, like the pulley systems up top
to load content in through high windows.
i
absolutely LOVE this. in the Netherlands folk can mark their mail slots
with special stickers, indicating if they want to refuse junk mail and/or
unsolicited mail. i would kill for this sort of thing here in the states.
i'm
fairly certain that this was one of the Axxa bike locks that can be
compromised with an overlifting attack. see Schuyler Towne's interview
at SecTor (article with video is online
here) for an example of how they are exploited.
